We provide free pet food to families in need in the Camas, Washougal and Vancouver communities.
OUR PEBBLES
I named this project after our dog Pebbles. She crossed the rainbow bridge last fall and we miss her very much. She was the best dog ever and loved all types of food!! Well, she didn't like lettuce or tomatoes but she loved everything else! She would be happy knowing pets have good food to eat.
Many times when people are short on food, they will give their pets some of their human food. Human food is not good for pets. It does not meet their nutritional requirements and can actually make them sick. Also, if a person gives some of their food to their pet, that is less they have to eat themselves.
FOOD DONATION
I am asking for cat and dog food donations from the community and local stores. I am also asking for donation of ziploc type storage bags so I can measure out portions of pet food. Perhaps your pet did not like the food you just bought or they have crossed the rainbow bridge? Maybe a bag of food ripped or is unsaleable? If you have any extra cat or dog food, I would really appreciate it if you would consider donating to my project.
We would be happy to pick up any food for donation in the Camas, Washougal and Vancouver areas.
MY VISION
I would like Pebbles Pet Pantry to grow as the years go on and eventually serve other animals besides cats and dogs. I am talking with a local church about forming a partnership to hand out the pet food through their food pantry. Until our partnership is formed, I will be dividing the food into large storage bags and giving them to homeless people with pets. I hope to have a partnership with the local food pantry access formed by the summer.
